The OECS Regional Super Challenge is an exciting annual robotics competition that unites talented students from across the Eastern Caribbean to compete, collaborate, and showcase their innovations in robotics, coding, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) fields. This event provides a platform for students to apply their knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to real-world challenges through robotics.
The competition aims to promote the importance of robotics and technology education in the Caribbean while fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation. Participants will work as teams to design, build, and program robots to complete a series of challenges, providing a hands-on opportunity to develop technical and teamwork skills.
Participating in the OECS Regional Super Challenge begins with forming a team. Schools and educational institutions are encouraged to recruit a diverse group of students with a passion for robotics and STEAM subjects. Here’s how to get started:
Team Composition:
Each team should consist of 4 students] from the same school or educational institution. It’s ideal to include students with various strengths, such as problem-solving, coding, design, and communication skills.
Faculty Mentor:
Every team must have a faculty mentor who will guide the students through the competition preparation. This mentor will assist with logistics, support the team in building and programming the robot, and ensure that all rules and guidelines are followed.
Team Registration:
Once you have your team and faculty mentor in place, you can register by filling out the Registration Form [link coming soon]. Early registration is encouraged to ensure your spot in the competition and receive timely updates and information.
Team Preparation:
After registration, teams will have access to resources, including training materials, workshops, and technical support, to help them prepare for the challenges. Teams should begin planning their robot designs, learning about programming platforms, and working on team collaboration.
The OECS Regional Super Challenge is an exciting and accessible event, but teams are required to cover certain costs to participate. The registration fee helps cover the cost of event organization, venue, prizes, and support resources for teams.

The OECS Regional Super Challenge is designed to test the students’ skills in multiple areas of robotics. Each year, the competition challenges participants with a new set of tasks and problem-solving scenarios. Key features of the competition include:
Build & Program Your Robot: Teams will design, build, and program robots that can complete specific tasks, requiring creativity, precision, and technical know-how.
Real-World Challenges: The competition tasks are inspired by real-world issues such as sustainability, automation, and disaster response, providing teams with a chance to develop solutions that have practical applications.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Collaboration is a key component of the competition. Teams will work together to overcome challenges, and judges will assess not just the robot’s performance but also the teamwork and communication skills of each team.
Awards & Recognition: Teams will be recognized for their achievements in several categories such as Best Robot Design, Most Creative Solution, Best Teamwork, and Overall Champion.
