As part of their recent delegative mission to Saint Lucia, key leaders of the OECS Robotics Association (OECSRA) — His Excellency Dr. Ricardo Neil, Mr. Brandon Powell, Ms. Zahrea Franklin, and Ms. Mary Shelford — took time to experience the awe-inspiring natural wonders of the island, including the iconic Piton mountains and Mount Soufrière, the Caribbean’s only drive-in volcano.
Set against the backdrop of Soufrière’s stunning terrain, the delegation found a moment of reflection — one that beautifully echoed the harmony between nature and innovation. Just as these monumental landscapes have been forged over centuries through volcanic transformation, so too is the future of the region being shaped by vision, education, and technological advancement.
This visit reminded us that the strength of the OECS lies not only in its shared history and unity, but also in its breathtaking natural heritage, its resilient people, and its bold ambitions for the future.
From volcanic marvels to vibrant communities, Saint Lucia offered both inspiration and a renewed sense of purpose to the OECSRA team, as we continue to champion STEM education, youth empowerment, and regional integration across the Eastern Caribbean.
